Draft, not legal advice. This was written by reviewing the app's actual code, to accurately describe what Roobaroo does today. Have an actual lawyer review it before publishing, especially the GDPR/CCPA-style language, and update it whenever the app's real behavior changes (real ads, real payments, accounts, analytics) — not just once at launch.

The short version

Roobaroo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or to any third party. Everything the app remembers - player names, round history, your settings - stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

What Roobaroo stores, and where

Roobaroo stores the following directly on your device only, using your device's local app storage:

Recent player names you've typed in, so you can tap them again next time instead of retyping. Cleared if you uninstall the app.
Round history (which decks you've played, scores, timestamps) so the History screen can show your past sessions.
Settings you choose - round length, sound on/off, Hindi toggle default, the Tabletop jerk-gesture toggle, and similar preferences.
Purchase/entitlement status, if you unlock premium features - see In-App Purchases below.

None of this is transmitted to us, to any analytics service, or to any third party. We don't have a server that Roobaroo talks to, and the app doesn't have accounts, sign-in, or a network connection it uses for gameplay.

In-app purchases

Roobaroo offers optional paid unlocks (monthly or lifetime) for additional content. [Once real payments are wired up - this app currently uses a placeholder/mock purchase system during development, not a live payment processor - replace this with an accurate description of the actual payment provider (Apple's In-App Purchase system, Google Play Billing, etc.), and note that purchase and billing information is handled by that platform's payment system, not by us directly.]

Advertising

Roobaroo does not currently show ads. [If rewarded ads are turned back on in the future, replace this with a description of the actual ad network used, what data it collects, and a link to that network's own privacy policy - this is a real disclosure requirement the moment ads are live.]

Children's privacy

Roobaroo is a party word-game intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because nothing is collected or transmitted in the first place, there's no personal data to be concerned about regardless of who's playing. [A lawyer should confirm whether this app's age rating and content make it subject to COPPA or similar children's-privacy regulations in your target markets.]

Permissions the app uses

Motion/accelerometer: used only during active gameplay, to detect the tilt/jerk gesture in Forehead mode and (optionally, off by default) Tabletop mode. Processed on your device in real time and never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Audio playback: used to play the correct/pass sound cues during a round, if sound is enabled in Settings. Roobaroo does not record audio or access your microphone.

Changes to this policy

If what Roobaroo actually does changes - real payment processing, real advertising, analytics, accounts - this policy will be updated to match, and the "last reviewed" date above will change.
